Use receipt coding suggestions and rules
Understand receipt payee-history, AI and rule prefills without assuming automatic posting.

Suggested fields save typing, but they do not approve a receipt or post it to Reckon. Full Receipts access is needed to review and edit receipt cards. Rules are managed in the separate Rules section; see Rules for setup and governance.
- Open Receipts → Enter Receipt and upload a file. The extraction may suggest a payee, date, amount, memo, expense account and bank account. Where line-item evidence is present, the app can propose an NCF GST-free line or NCG/NCF split. Check every suggested value against the document.
- Choose or change Pay to the order of to trigger payee-history lookup. A matching active receipt/both rule can first prefill Expense Lines account and tax code and, if configured, the bank account. Rules are matched against the payee name, limited by company file if specified, and higher-priority rules are considered first. This is a prefill only.
- If connected to Reckon, a saved supplier preference from previously pushed receipt coding can subsequently replace those lines. Otherwise, recent Reckon payee cheque coding may prefill lines; the page shows a history hint. A returned payment account fills only when the current field is empty. These asynchronous suggestions can override earlier AI/rule line proposals, so review the final values after loading ends.
- Correct any account, tax code, split amount, memo and class yourself. A previous supplier's coding is not necessarily right for this particular purchase or GST treatment. Save as a draft if you need another person to check it; push only after review.
Example: a fictional stationery purchase dated 26-09-2026 for AUD 49.50 has an old payee preference for office supplies. If this receipt also contains a GST-free item, inspect the source and split the taxable and GST-free amounts correctly, rather than accepting the remembered single line. Check the payment account as well.
Expected result: the final editable card contains suggested or manually corrected fields; nothing is posted until you explicitly select Push. A rule may not match if its payee text, active state or company-file scope differs. If the account list fails to load, select Retry or Refresh accounts on the card and check the selected company/file before saving.
