Email a question about a bank-feed transaction
Send a transaction query and read pending or answered replies in Feed History.

Use Send query email when a transaction needs clarification before coding. You need Bank Feeds access and a saved transaction in the correct company/file. A query is an email conversation, not a Reckon push.
- Open Bank Feed → Feed History, locate the transaction and choose More actions → Send query email. The Send Transaction Query dialog displays the payee, date and type for context.
- Check the To recipient carefully. Review From Name, optional From Email, Subject and Message. The dialog may load a template and substitute transaction details; edit it to ask a specific question without including unnecessary private financial information. To, From Name, Subject and Message must be filled; the recipient must be a valid email address.
- Select Send Query. If an error appears, correct it and retry only after checking whether the email was already received. Do not close while sending.
- Expand Transaction Queries lower on Feed History. A query is Pending until the recipient responds via the query link, then Answered with Response displayed. Use Refresh in that panel to retrieve a newly arrived reply. Recheck the answer and code the transaction yourself; an answer does not post it.
For example, ask a fictional client, “Was the AUD 86.40 payment dated 26-09-2026 for office supplies or travel?” Use the recipient address you have verified outside this guide, and choose the appropriate expense account only after their response.
Reply as the recipient
- Open the response link in the query email only after checking that you recognise the sender and question. This link does not require a BookFlo sign-in; keep it private and do not forward it.
- Read the question and enter a clear answer under Your response, then select Submit Response. Wait for Response submitted.
- If Already responded appears, that link has already recorded an answer. Contact the sender directly if you need to correct it. If Link not valid appears, ask the sender for a new query.
Submitting an answer records the reply for the sender; it does not change transaction coding or post anything to Reckon. The sender can refresh Transaction Queries to read it. A transaction row may display Queried while waiting and Answered after a reply.
Troubleshooting: The recipient's response link can expire; ask them to contact the sender for a new query if it is invalid or expired. A link already answered cannot be answered again through that same link. If a message did not send, read the dialog error and confirm the recipient address. See Review and code and History filters.
